Lenovo was pretty prolific at IFA 2019, just like they do every year and brought fourth two new Smart Tab devices. I’m talking about the Lenovo Smart Tab 10 and Smart Tab M8 tablets, which we detail below.
As expected, they are both smart home hubs and ways to play with your virtual assistant. The Lenovo Smart Tab 10, aka the Yoga Smart Tab features 10 inch Full HD screen and a Snapdragon 439 CPU (octa core). It also brings dual JBL HiFi speakers and it provides 4 modes of use: standing, sitting, reclining or laying down.
The product is fully made of metal and comes with Google Assistant Ambient Mode. There’s a kickstand in the mix to make it a proper Smart Display. Its price is $250 and it’s coming to European stores this month. Its specs also include 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of storage, plus microSD.
Lenovo Smart Tab M8 is more affordable, at $120 (coming in October) and comes with a more modest CPU, the MediaTek A22, accompanied by stereo speakers and a HD screen. There’s also a Smart Charging Station that enables Google Assistant features. The screen goes down to 8 inches here and there’s only 2 GB of RAM and a 5 MP rear camera, plus a 2 MP front camera.
There’s Dolby Atmos acoustics here and a microUSB 2.0 port.
Finally there was also a Lenovo Smart Display 7 announced, with a 7 inch screen with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, plus a more desk oriented design, less portable. It’s priced at around $130 and competes with the Google Nest Hub. It has narrower bezels than the predecessors and front facing left and right speakers (5W ones). There’s also Bluetooth 5.0 and a MediaTek CPU inside.
