Redmi’s big event is tomorrow and the brand externalized by Xiaomi will debut a flagship killer called Redmi K20. It’ll also start selling its first laptop, the RedmiBook 14, which has just been teased.
Xiaomi already has laptops and they’re not half bad, but just like the Huawei Matebooks they’re MacBook clones. The teaser shown here comes from the Redmi Weibo page and shows a side view of the laptop. You can’t tell anything except that it’s a slim machine. The name pretty much reveals a 14 inch diagonal and a Full HD resolution is pretty much a given.
The RedmiBook 14 was spotted on the Bluetooth SIG website a few weeks ago, with the model number XMA1901-**. Its specs have also leaked and they’re actually more solid than the Huawei MateBook ones. I’m talking about Core i3, i5 or i7 versions, 4 or 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of 512 GB of storage. There’s also an NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU in the mix and a variety of ports.
I’m expecting Bluetooth, WiFi, HDMI, maybe also a Thunderbolt 3. A couple of USBs and a Type-C should also be here, Ethernet too and a 2 MP webcam is also there in the mix. Redmi has been positioning itself as an affordable brand with some gaming perks, so we may also see some gaming features.
