Xiaomi is back in the premium tablet race with the launch of the Pad 7S Pro 12.5, and it’s not playing it safe. This new slate is the first to pack Xiaomi’s in-house Xring O1 processor, which made its debut last month inside the Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone. But this isn’t just a chip drop into an old chassis—Xiaomi is aiming squarely at hybrid productivity users with upgrades across the board.
The Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro bumps the screen size up to 12.5 inches, landing in that sweet spot between ultra-portability and laptop-like usability. It keeps the 3:2 aspect ratio and 144Hz refresh rate, but stretches the usable area without going full ultrabook. Despite the larger footprint, Xiaomi managed to trim the profile down to a slim 5.8mm (compared to 6.2mm on the Pad 7 Pro). Weight does climb to 576g, but it’s a fair tradeoff for the bigger display and improved internals.
The battery also gets a serious boost. Xiaomi crams in a 10,610mAh cell with blazing-fast 120W HyperCharge support—double the wattage of the previous Pro. That’s not just tablet fast, that’s laptop-grade recharge speed. And speaking of laptops, Xiaomi’s pushing this model hard as a full productivity tool, complete with a magnetic keyboard case that features an adjustable hinge and support for full desktop workflows.
On the software side, the Pad 7S Pro runs a new productivity-focused version of WPS Office and comes optimized for ZWCAD (DWG-compatible) and CAJViewer, which supports a wide range of document formats. There’s also tight cross-device integration: think low-latency (41ms) wireless screen mirroring, shared keyboard and mouse support, and file drag-and-drop with both Windows and macOS.
Audio is another win. Xiaomi ups the speaker count to six, with Dolby Atmos onboard for better spatial sound. Combined with the bigger screen, this makes it a more immersive setup for watching shows, gaming, or even editing content on the go.
The Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro starts at 3,300 yuan ($455) for the 8GB/256GB base model, and goes all the way up to 16GB/1TB. There’s also an optional keyboard priced at CNY 1,000 ($140) and a Soft Light screen protector for CNY 200 ($28). There’s no word yet on international availability, but if Xiaomi does bring this beast westward, it could seriously shake up the tablet market.
