HP ZBook x2 expands the list of HP detachables, with a device that has very hardcore specs. This is basically a workstation condensed down to a regular laptop. It’s got a 4K display and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

The ZBOOK line usually includes workstation computers and as such the HP ZBook x2 comes with a 14 inch 3840 x 2160 pixel screen. It offers up to an Intel Core i7-8560U processor (Kaby Lake-R), as well as NVIDIA Quadro graphics, 32 GB of RAM and up to 2 TB of SSD storage. It also integrates a kickstand, a pretty fancy one at the back and a detachable backlit keyboard.

The latter connects via Bluetooth, so it can be used even from a small distance. The whole machine weighs around 3.65 pounds and ZBook x2 can be used in both laptop and tablet mode. Of course there’s a pen in the mix, a pro one that uses Wacom EMR technology and provides 4096 levels of pressure, as well as tilt detection. There are 4 modes of use for this device: a docked mode, with the x2 connected to two external 4K displays, a detached mode with the Bluetooth keyboard on, a laptop mode and probably a tablet mode.

The machine measures 14.6 mm in thickness and it gets to 20.3 mm with the keyboard. HP ZBook x2 goes on sale this December, with a starting price of $1749. The screen here offers a special anti glare, matte finish and supports 100$ adobe RGB color gamut. Other special features include a fingerprint scanner, smart card reader, fast charging and even MIL-STD 810G ruggedness.
