As the MWC 2017 show winds down, we start to get ready for the next big event, which may just be a surprise Apple launch this Spring. It should involve iPads, a trio of them actually and today we have deets about the 10.5 inch iPad Pro. It will apparently have a 2224 x 1668 pixel resolution.
It should keep the same pixel density as the iPad Pro 9.7 incher, said IHS Markit director of tablets and PCs Rhoda Alexander. That density is 264 ppi, which is equal to the one of the 9.7 inch iPad Pro, offering a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. Previous rumors placed the res at 2732 x 2048, like the iPad Pro 12.9 inch model, but that felt like overkill maybe.
The same source said that the 10.5 inch new arrival will have slimmer bezels, letting it keep the same footprint of the 9.7 inch iPad Pro. The product is said to arrive in the March – April time time frame, so the Spring speculation above is right. Aside from that diagonal version, there should be a new 7.9 inch iPad, a 9.7 inch one and a 12.9 inch brand new iPad Pro.
Alexander mentioned that the rumored low cost iPad Pro with 9.7 inch diagonal may start at $299, which is excellent, even compared to the iPad Air 2. The iPad Mini 4 may end up not being updated.
