The 7 inch smartphones always baffled me, especially when they came with a phone format, all portrait orientation and phone calling. The ASUS FonePad was a good example of that and now we even have such a device with Windows 10 Mobile on board, courtesy of the Chinese firm Cube. It’s called Cube WP10 and it’s shown below.

This model goes for $138 and may well be used as a slate. It brings a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 CPU and from what I understood it could have limited support for US wireless networks, so users may be stuck at 2G data speeds if the “phone” is used in North America. Still, even with the connectivity out of the picture, it’s a reasonable device, for the money you pay.

You get a 720p display, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a main 5 MP camera, a microSD card slot and a 2850 mAh battery. There’s a 2 MP selfie cam upfront and the design is rather angular and narrow. Bluetooth is also here, plus GPS and in areas with support you can even use 4G LTE. Windows 10 Mobile is here with Cortana and the Edge browser.

The product is up for sale here.
