The ASUS Transformer Book T100 Chi was announced in January this year and took its time to arrive on the market. Luckily we just scored an unit for testing purposes and you can check out its unboxing below.

The product is priced at $400 on Amazon, in the 32 GB version and its box is rather massive. We have the more or less official box of the device, as shown in the video below. This is a 10 inch Windows 8.1 slate, that comes bundled with a keyboard dock, a manual, USB cable, charger and charger adapter. The tablet is made of aluminum and feels like the “lid” of a laptop in the best way possible.

The keyboard connects to it magnetically and also through two special latches, but the two are not connected via any type of port. They communicate via Bluetooth and each has their separate battery, none charging the other. ASUS Transformer Book T100 Chi measures 7.2 mm in thickness, weighs 570 grams and with the dock the weight reaches 1.08 KG.

Inside the slate we find the quad core Intel Bay Trail processor, clocked from 1.46 GHz to 2.39 GHz, as well as 2 GB of RAM and 32, 64 or 128 GB of storage. This model brings a 10.1 inch 16:10 Full HD screen with LED backlight and a microSD card slot, plus a 5 MP main camera and 2 MP secondary one. WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 are also here, plus stereo speakers with SonicMaster technology, a microUSB port, micro HDMI port and an extra microUSB 3.0 port.

The battery is a 30 Whr unit here, that on paper offers 10 hours of functioning time. You’ll learn more about the device when we come back with a full review, in a few days.
