After the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 got the FCC blessing a few days ago, it’s time for the 8 inch model to get the same treatment. It’s clear now that the two weren’t ready for a Computex unveiling and I’m sure hoping Sammy isn’t going to wait till IFA to unveil them.
Back to the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0, it comes with LTE connectivity here and it’s codenamed SM-T715. The certification has been passed on June 4th, with GSM and WCDMA support, as well as Bluetooth and WiFi in the 5.x GHz and 2.4 GHz bands. A couple of days ago, the Tab S2 8.0 also passed through TENAA, revealing its specs there and sporting the same codename.
We’re dealing with an octa core model here, clocked at 1.9 GHz, most likely powered by the potent Exynos 7420 chipset. 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and an 8 inch AMOLED panel are all on the plate here, with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. 8 MP back camera and 2 MP front shooter plus an incredible 5.4 mm thin waistline are in the mix as well.
