Although some new games make tablets feel like consoles, we’re not there yet, but Electronic Arts has an estimation when we’ll reach that level. The company recently claimed that in 4 to 5 years tablets will catch up to home consoles.
The statement came from Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen, who spoke at the 2015 Technology, Internet & Media Conference. This may help eliminate the superficial nature of high end graphics games, that just like Infinity Blade are more about graphics and less about characters and story. Apple claims that the iPad Air 2 can deliver 40% faster CPU performance and 2.5 times the graphics performance of the iPad Air 1.
Meanwhile, we’ve got the Nvidia Tegra X1, that’s theoretically able to deliver graphics on the level of a PS3 or Xbox 360 console, but in order to harness that you also need some hardcore tablet specs. We’ve already got superior graphics on Quad HD phones, compared to those “modern” 900p PlayStation titles…
