If you’re craving a taste of that sweet Android 5.0 Lollipop, today you’re in luck. The Nexus 7 2012 WiFi version has received signed factory images with Android 5.0 in the mix. The build here is LRX21P, fitting with the builds that showed up on the Nexus 9 and Nexus Player (LRX21L and LRX21M).

The images are final, but since this is a leak we look at them with caution. The software is hosted on Google servers, making it more believable that these are official images. Android Police also mentions a slight issue here, since there’s a signature mismatch when you’re trying to flash the software. However, that’s nothing major, since the version included here is 4.23, which is over a year old, so people most likely have the required bootloader on their devices.

If there are any problems in the fastboot, you just skip that part and flash system.img and boot.img. By the way, the needed software package is here on Google’s server and here on a mirror link. After looking at Android 5.0 for such a long time and loving its animations and looks, I have to say the notification cards are not exactly sexy…
