Ever since the Xperia Tablet scandal and problems, there hasn’t been a mainstream slate to get withdrawn from the market because of hardware issues, or at least none that I know of. Today’s news regards the Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet, that has been suspended because of its charger’s electric shock risk.
The sales of the product have been suspended in the UK, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Russia and Switzerland. That was done after uncovering a fault with the charger, that affects around 30,000 users. Nokia recommends that anyone who owns the AC-300 charger stops using it immediately. The problem comes from the plastic cover of the charger’s plug, that could come loose and separate.
This means the internal components would be exposed and users may receive an electric shock if they touch those when the plug is in the socket. Sales of the charger are also halted in the US, where the product is marketed as the “Lumia 2520 Travel Charger”. Travel to the Nether Realm more likely… Consumers with concerns need to check this link out over at Nokia’s site.
