Since we had the opportunity of testing the Nokia Lumia 1320 handset, we decided to play a new game on it, called Top Gear: Race the Stig. The title comes straight from BBC and it’s obviously related to the famous TV show Top Gear.
The game is available for free and it’s an endless runner with lanes, much like Subway Surfers and Minion Rush. In this thrilling driving experience, you race iconic cars from the Top Gear show, specifically the less glamorous ones, not the supercars. You can customize helmets, use pickups, and even become indestructible if need be, making it a unique twist on traditional driving games.
Like in other endless runners, you will swipe up to jump over obstacles, swipe to the bottom to duck and swipe to the sides to change lane. There’s a daily challenge to face and sometimes you’ll find yourself followed by the Stig and have to stay away from him. The gameplay is rather slow and sometimes traps are set in a very unfair way, that’s too hard to dodge.
I’ll just give this game a 7 out of 10 and say I feel sorry for BBC is this is the best Top Gear game they could come up with. Download link is here.
