Since everyone is talking about the start of the Formula 1 season, Apple couldn’t stay away from the automotive fans and they’re ready to debut an “iOS in the car” system. Apparently, this will come to Ferraris next week and also other vehicles.
This is not exactly news, since Apple previewed “iOS in the car” 8 months ago, a system that was supposed to put Siri, Maps and other services on car dashboards. Financial Times is saying that Apple and a few automakers are making it happen at the Geneva Motor Show. Ferrari, Mercedez-Benz and Volvo are all expected to showcase models incorporating this new technology.
These companies refused to comment on the report, but there are also rumors about early adopters like Honda, Nissan, Jaguar or Chevy. Rumors say that this dashboard system debut may have something to do with the release of iOS 7.1, the first big update for iOS 7 since its fall release. We knew that it was supposed to come in March, but we didn’t know exactly when.
