A prototype of the interesting Convergence Multimedia Phone (SMT-i9000) by Samsung was recently demoed at CommunicAsia, as you can see in the video at the end of the article. This device combines the features of a phone with the ones of a portable media player, but its design places it closer to the MID/tablet segment.
Samsung SMT-i9000 comes with a 7 inch touchscreen, video call support, WiFi with DLNA, Bluetooth and an SD card slot. Also, the Convergence Multimedia Phone packs an USB connector, an earpiece speakerphone, a multimedia player, social networking feats, YouTube and RSS. This model hasn’t been announced yet, but odds are that it’ll stay in Asia, for now.
