UK carrier Three has announced today the availability of a new tablet, the Alcatel One Touch Tab 7 model, pictured below. The product is not 3G enabled by itself, which is pretty strange for a product sold by a carrier.
However, the slate will get 3G by pairing up with a MiFi unit also sold by Three. People who buy one of the MiFi Starter Packs (at 49.99 quid a pop), can buy the tablet at half price, which is 64.99 quid. You should know that the MiFi will connect up to 5 devices, so you can use Three’s 3G on more than just the slate.
As far as the Alcatel One Touch Tab 7 goes, this model was actually announced in January, released in May and it measures 9.5 mm in thickness while weighing 350 grams. It packs a 7 inch TFT display with a 600 x 1024 pixel resolution, a microSD card slot, 4 GB of storage and 1 GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.1 on top of a Rockchip 1 GHz CPU and the battery is a 3240 mAh unit.
