We’ve heard about tablets for kids, but tablets for really young children haven’t been so much lately. Archos has a tablet for kids and there are several other smaller brands approaching this, but now here’s a new one: Kiano Kid Pad 7.

This is marketed as a slate for kids ages 2 to 6 years. Kid Pad 7 packs a 7 inch 800 x 480 pixels display, runs Android 4.2.2 and relies on a single core Rockchip RK2926 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. There’s also a Mali 400 GPU and inside the device we’ve got a 2800 mAh battery, which is a pretty low capacity even for a 7 inch tablet.

4 GB of storage are here as well, plus a microSD card slot, USB port, webcam and WiFi. As shown here, the Kid Pad 7 has an ergonomic design and the housing is made of reinforced plastic, that prevents it from slipping out of the hand. The product comes to Best Buy today and is priced at a $349 with a special discount. You’ll find it in pink and blue.
