Archos is a French company that has been releasing varied formats of tablets over the past years and now they are offering an 8 inch model with built in 3G. The product is available for preorder in Germany and it’s priced at about $296.
Other retailers are pricing this model even lower, reaching $223, so we’ve got an affordable 3G tablet here. The device is the Archos 80 Xenon and this model comes with a 1.2 GHz processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, an 8 inch 1024 x 768 pixel TFT display, 4 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and 4 GB of internal storage.
There’s also Bluetooth 3.0 on board, WiFi, FM radio, AGPS, a 2 megapixel camera at the back and a 0.3 megapixel front camera. The slate measures 0.4 inches in thickness and it comes with 512 MB of RAM or 1 GB in some regions. It’s also speculated that the price difference mentioned above may be caused by the device’s availability in dual core and quad core versions.
