Boy, don’t the Italians have all the luck? Now they can buy their own local Exynos-based tablet, with a reasonable weight of 560 grams and Android 4.0 ICS or Ubuntu 12.04 as the OS choice. The slate is dubbed Nibbio and it comes from DaVinci Mobile Technology, a local company with the HQ in Naples.

Nibbio will feature an IPS display, with 178 degree viewing angles, 10.1 inch diagonal and a Full HD resolution, actually more than Full HD, since it’s 1920 x 1200 pixels. Inside the tablet there’s a Samsung Exynos 4412 quad core CPU with Mali 400 GPU, as well as 2 GB of DDR3 RAM and 32 GB of storage. To that we add 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and a 2 megapixel camera at the back, plus a VGA cam upfront for videocalls. Nibbio also packs a microSD card slot, a mini USB 2.0 port and HDMI.

There’s even an optional docking station that you can buy for it and a keyboard, sold separately. The cool thing is that the price of the device is not that big, at 309 euro and the product will come out in March 2013. The folks who preorder the tablet ahead of the launch will get an extra 12 months of warranty, worth 39 euro, that add to the already available 2 years.
