The Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi has just received an update to Android 4.0.4 in the USA and this firmware is especially for the States, apparently. The build date is from August and the users of the WiFi Galaxy Tab 10.1 in North America woke up this morning with ICS available.
Rumors about its arrival this summer have circulated for a while and they appear to have been right after all. The update comes via Kies or OTA and it’s nice to see Samsung keeping a promise. I’m hoping that it won’t take as long for the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to arrive in the future, since it’s rumored to come in Q3 or Q4, but with the usual delay we may get in early 2013. So, any of you lucky owners of the controversial Galaxy Tab 10.1? Or did Apple suits scare you away from buying it?
Anyway this was a pretty good product and I can say that having tested it. It’s now even cheaper, but not as competitive as newer Samsung models, like the Galaxy Note 10.1 quad core Exynos slate, that has just been launched. There’s also the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and 7.0 that have Android 4.0 as selling points. The choice is yours!
