We’ve been hearing about the Wikipad gaming tablet with Android since earlier this year when the product was shown at CES 2012, in a 7 inch form factor. Now the tablet is back with a solid list of specs, some kickass specs and all you need to know about it, except for the price. More details available below!
The Wikipad will sport a 10.1 inch IPS display with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and 16:10 ratio. The slate weighs 560 and measures 8.6mm in thickness, so it’s on the lighter side of the tablets on the market. The final model will have a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 T30 1.4 GHz processor and 1 GB of DDR2 RAM. If you want a comparison, the Nexus 7 tablet relies on the T30L CPU, a 1.2 GHz quad core CPU, while the ASUS Transformer Prime has the evolved T33 Tegra 3 with 1.6 GHz CPU.
Wikipad ships with 16GB of storage and probably more storage options available as well. The device has a 23.46 Wh battery, that offers 6 hours of continuous gaming and 8 hours of video playback. This gaming tablet will adopt flat sides, reminiscent of the iPhone 4S and the rear panel will host an elevated lip, for extra grip. The good thing about the software on the slate is that it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and I must also mention that the gizmo offers a controller add on, with a design similar to the one of the Xbox 360 console.
Finally there’s also an 8 megapixel camera at the rear of the tablet and apparently there will also be units with 3D screens on board in the future.
