Imagine using Microsoft and Apple technology together… sounds crazy right? Well, not anymore, since the guys of Crunchy Logistics mixed together an iPad, a Microsoft Kinect and their very own huge display. The result is the Padzilla Too, shown in action in the video at the end of the article.

The screen is 24 feet wide and 12 feet tall and it’s connected directly to the iPad 3. Crunch’s display is constructed using the new 3.5mm LED wall matrix display technology, the thinnest LED separation possible right now. The advantage here is that it provides pixel density close to Retina levels at typical viewing distance. It’s also multi input gesture capable, so that’s why the Microsoft Kinect is thrown in the mix. With such a product the problem is clearly the cost, since the original Padzilla, that was much smaller cost around $40k and this one is huge…

The application for this project lie in gaming, interactive advertising and top notch video presentations. As you can see, playing Fruit Ninja is a blast on the huge display, simply by waving your hands like a real Fruit Ninja. Tracking multiple gestures at the same time works fine, apparently and I really can’t wait to see if any big company buys out this project:
