The Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset is one of the special guests at CES 2012 and two of the tablets it powers at the Acer Iconia Tab A510 and ZTE T-98. Those were taken for a hands on ride courtesy of the folks of PCMag and their impressions can be found out from the following lines.
These devices were shown at the Nvidia booth at CES and the ZTE T-98 was the real surprise, since it comes with a 7 inch display and adopts a chromed plastic chassis. Its screen is a LCD unit with 1280 x 800 pixels of resolution and the Tegra 3 quad core processor puts that to good use. The images you see of this seven incher were caught by IntoMobile and you must knowt that this slate runs Android 4.0.1, it sports rounded edges and most likely it also has WiFi, Bluetooth, maybe even LTE, plus the usual 1GB of RAM and at least 16GB of storage.
Acer Iconia Tab A510 is a larger quad core tablet, with a 10.1 inch display supporting a 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution and it’s thicker and heavier than other Tegra 3 models. It’s also made of cheap feeling plastic, has squared edges, HDMI output, a microSD and SIM card slots. There’s one thing to notice here: the Android Ice Cream Sandwich experience on the slate has been customized with the Acer Ring UI. This is a pretty original widget that shows you volume control, web bookmarks, frequently used feature and search in a transparent circle over the slate’s home screen.
