Xiaomi’s MiPad was a pretty good tablet, but the company can always do better… and cheaper. Apparently, they’re preparing to take over the tablet market, by launching a very good $100 slate. The newcomer will be a 9.2 incher with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution.

It will also feature an Adreno 306 GPU, a 1.2 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and 1 GB of RAM. The device will use 8 GB of storage, of which 5.8 GB are usable and it will integrate a dual camera. It’s expected to come with WiFi and LTE and the price may be as low as $98, which would be incredibly good. The launch of the slate will go down early next year, if everything goes well.

Xiaomi is already circling third spot on the smartphone market, only stopped by the Motorola-Lenovo deal.  Xiaomi’s aim is to bring MIUI to as many users as possible, reaching 200 million people by 2015 or 2016, via its TVs, tablets and phones. The company has expanded this year to India, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines and next year will bring even more expansion.
