We’ve been hearing for a while now that Xiaomi was preparing to get back in the tablet segment, but today that theory pops up again. Xiaomi is again rumored to be working on a tablet, plus a foldable smartphone too. A potential Mi Pad 5 slate could rejuvenate the Mi Pad lineup, while a brand new “Cetus” or Mi Fold smartphone could usher in a new series of foldables.
Is well know that some the Xiaomi phones are presenting issues with the battery and get overheat it, if that is the case of your smartphone, find out here how can you fix your phone by simply going to a mobile repair company.
Famous leakster Digital Chat Station has been providing info on the upcoming Xiaomi handsets and tablets. We have been covering Xiaomi foldables ever since January 2019, when a tri fold device fascinated everyone in a CGI-ridden hands on from a company official. Ever since then we’ve only seen patents and renders, nothing more. Xiaomi is said to be working on a new tablet, which could end up being a successor to the Mi Pad 4 Plus, based on Android with a new MIUI on top.
Since Xiaomi is following so closely in Apple’s footsteps, we could see a fork of MIUI into MIUIPadOS maybe. They’ve already copied the Control Center, so don’t be surprised. A Mi Pad 5 is expected to be a metallic unibody tablet to rival the Galaxy Tab S7 and also the iPad Air or iPad Pro. Or it could keep the typical Mi Pad approach and provide a smaller and more affordable tablet, a format ditched by many tablet makers lately. I’d predict a Snapdragon inside, 6 GB of RAM and a dual camera, plus a screen which can be anywhere between 8 and 12.9 inches. An OLED screen is out of question, but a stylus could appear.
The other device is codenamed “Cetus” and should be a foldable machine with a 108 megapixel back camera, with 90 or 120 Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 888 CPU and lots of RAM. It’s not very clear if the rumored price point of $999 can be attained at this point. It’s unlikely we’ll get a tri fold device just yet, but rather a classic one with a seam down the middle.
