Microsoft is preparing a bunch of improvements for desktop PCs with its Windows 8.1 Update 1, including an improved way to shutdown your machine. The screenshot you see below has been published online by Russian leakster WZor and he seems to know a lot about the update.
The shutdown and restart options are now repositioned in Windows 8.1, on the Start Screen courtesy of the update 1. There’s also a new search button and the ability to right click on Live Tiles to get a context menu with options like resize, pin and uninstall. This is a small change, a subtle one, but still a change.
Usually we had to perform a lot of clicks to actually shutdown a PC, as well as to restart it, so this update is welcome. The options were previously hidden under the new settings options on the Charms Bar. You could also access them with a right click on the new Start button in Windows 8.1, but that wasn’t intuitive.
Windows 8.1 Update 1 is focused on making the OS easier to use for business users, apparently.
