Velocity Micro has just announced an interesting device, an eReader Tablet that’s dubbed the Cruz. We’re talking more versions here, that will be priced around $149, up to $299 and we’ll see Android on them, plus multimedia features and numerous options to mess with. The Cruz Reader packs a 7 inch 4:3 ratio, 800 x 600 full color touch display, support for 802.11 b/g WiFi, full web browsing and an accelerometer.
There’s also an SD card slot on board, a battery that provides up to 10 hours of use and 24 hours of standby and we learn that the device plays high res video and high quality audio files. A dictionary, notepad, alarm clock, games and apps are available on board, as well. 2 million eBooks will be accessible via the Borders E-Book library portal app, that comes with the eReader.
In the $299 version, the Cruz Tablet incorporates a 16:9 800 x 480 pixel capacitive touch display, with a 7 inch diagonal, WiFi 802.11n, a microphone with voice recording feature, 4GB internal memory and a bundled 8GB SD card for extra storage.
The third version is the Cruz StoryPad, with a 7 inch 4:3 800 x 600 pixel full color touch display, high res video/audio playback, an SD card and preinstalled audio books.
