The future belongs to touchscreens and touchscreen-based devices, that will be integrated into many aspects of your lives. Now it appears that Android wil make it to Lexus and Toyota vehicles through a solution called Vais, that’s demoed in the video below.

It seems to have a fluid UI movement, it even supports calling and has a pretty decent virtual keyboard. There’s also 4G connectivity available and web browsing too. The entire interface idea reminds me of the Motorola customization for Android, so I wonder if Mot is not behind this in the end… Google Maps is also here obviously and it looks kind of hot on that in-car display. So, if you own a Toyota or Lexus you can integrate a Vais new Android car system, the one shown here.

The system measures 5 x 4 x 1 inches and it will support any Lexus models between 2006 and 2012, plus Toyota models between 2006 and 2009. It also supports integration with your Android phone and will cost $600, which is not so much if you’re the kind of person who owns a Lexus. You’ll miss nothing about the regular Android experience, but one thing to be wary of, as usual is driving carefully…
