We wrote a few days ago that Apple’s collection of gadgets for the Fall has been leaked, but now it seems that more proof has surfaced. The Eurasian Economic Commission (ECC) has authorized two models for sale in Russia and other markets in the area, plus updates to other models with iOS 12 instead of iOS 11.
The filing with the ECC alludes to the tablet models A1895 and A1980, listed with iOS 11. These are supposed to be iPads, not iPhones, in case there was any confusion. I’m expecting one to be the new 12.9 inch iPad and the other a 11 inch slate to replace the 10.5 inch model. Filings for 11 other model numbers appeared back in April, but that filing has changed. Their references to iOS 11 have been changed to iOS 12. These devices have the codenames A1920, A1921, A1984, A2097, A2098, A2099, A2101, A2103, A2014, A2015, and A2016.
None of these codenames have appeared associated with iPhone or iPad products till now, so we’re dealing with novelty here. The listing doesn’t include model names, but these are clearly iOS devices according to descriptions. Since there are so many devices, we could see an iPhone SE 2 and the trio of iPhones so rumored. These filings were done for the nations of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.
We can’t tell much from the documents, except for the fact that the products will be launching within a few months. We’re pretty certain we’re going to see an iPad with a notch and Face ID, plus a new 11 inch version to replace the 10.5 inch one. Expect new CPUs, cameras, extra RAM and no more Home button. The Face ID mechanism will be reserved for the higher end iPads or iPad Pro models.
Expect more leaks in August, as we get closer to the September event.
