Toshiba is getting ready to show the big guns at CES 2012, including the thinnest tablet in the world, with a 10.1 inch diagonal. Let me remind you that the event starts early next week in Las Vegas and it will include the best of the best in handset and slate makers, on the international level. Toshiba will also be present with some top notch ultrabooks and “the world’s thinnest 10.1 inch tablet”.
As far as specifications are concerned, we have no idea what to expect here, but we could be dealing with some sort of Thrive relative with a very thin design and a quad core CPU. A recent set of benchmarks found a quad core Toshiba tablet that could be the one we’re waiting for. The benchmark results were pretty similar to the ones of the ASUS Transformer Prime, that was the first Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core tablet. Honestly speaking, as one who did benchmarks on the Transformer Prime, Honeycomb doesn’t do it justice, so we have to wait for Android ICS to deliver some decent tests.
Let’s just hope that Toshiba doesn’t disappoint us, like they did with the Thrive and maybe they’ll deliver a slate that’s good enough to match their pretty cool laptops and what looks like a cool line of upcoming ultrabooks…
