“The Daily” will probably get a bunch more fans thanks to the fact that the iPad-only version of the newspaper from News Corp will be coming soon. CEO Rupert Murdoch is saying that the digital publication will launch in two weeks and you’ll pay 99 cents per week to have it.

The Daily wants to bring original content to Apple’s product and you won’t find the articles in it anywhere else, not even in the printed edition. The good thing (for the paper) is that the fee is so low that it’s affordable to anyone, so it’s a much better choice than actually buying the printed paper.

There are more publications adopting this strategy, but in another (more expensive) way, like Wired, that will sell a year subscription of a hard copy magazine for $10 and each issue for $5, so you’re at loss.
