After playing with Chuwi and Teclast models, that had dual boot setups and Cherry Trail CPUs, we get yet another Cherry Trail model, but this time closer to the definition of a laptop. The device is Teclast Tbook 16 Pro, a 2 in 1 dual boot tablet with metal case and 11.6 inch screen. It’s priced at around $190 on GearBest and it gets unboxed below.
We also have a sturdy keyboard for it, but that’s sold separately for $39. In the box we find the charger, that may require an adapter in some countries, then the USB charging cable, a standard USB cable and an USB OTG cable, as well as the manual. This device runs Windows 10 and Android 5.1 in tandem and uses an Intel Cherry Trail processor, a quad core unit.
Plus, we also get 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage and a microSD card slot here. There’s WiFi b/g/n available, Bluetooth too and a micro HDMI port as well We’ve got a 2 MP front camera and no back camera whatsoever. The Teclast Tbook 16 Pro has a massive metal design and it weighs 772 grams. It connects to the keyboard with a magnetic system and pogo pins and also offers a 11.6 inch Full HD screen.
Switching between OSes happens with a simple tap of a virtual button. The keyboard is rather sturdy and solid too, it weighs 675 grams and it has a design that’s almost identical to the ones of the ASUS Transformer keyboards. It comes with two full USB ports, a trackpad and keys with good feedback. It makes a fine pairing with the Teclast slate, I’ll give you that.
We’ll be back with a full review soon and in the meantime you can buy the tablet here and the keyboard here.
