Remember last summer when the Taiwanese site Apple.pro leaked a picture showing a new dock and ribbon connector cable, supposedly belonging to the iPad 3? Well, they seem to have been the real deal, else the site wouldn’t have been sued by suppliers… We have no idea if this component will make it to the iPad 3 and as you may know, before picking a partner, Apple likes to have component makers produce the parts they need and then choose the winner.
I guess that one of these companies might have lost the deal with Apple, once the leaked part appeared online, so the supplier must be angry. Of course, this doesn’t reveal anything about the iPad 3 specs, shape, form factor, screen or anything else, other than the fact that the internal area of the dock connector is white, matching the one on the white iPhone 4S. The suit adds credibility to the leak and if you want the latest in iPad 3 rumors, know that it’s speculated for a February announcement and release, but we’ll have to take that with a grain of salt.
Specs? The usual 9.7 inch display, this time with a Retina Display resolution, a quad core Apple A6 CPU and better cameras. An improved battery and LTE would also help, if you ask me… but let’s wait calmly for the first Apple invites to a mystery event in the following month or so and we’ll be all set.
