The device is said to be launched at the same time with Windows 10 and the Surface Pro 4 tablet. The Surface Pro Mini is said to feature an 8 inch screen, competing with the likes of Nexus 7 and iPad Mini, in the same segment. Last May Microsoft was pretty much sure to unveil a Surface Mini, according to the entire press, but that didn’t happen.

Instead we got the Surface Pro 3. CEO Satya Nadella mentioned that the company wasn’t ready to reveal the Surface Mini and rumors said the project had been caned. Then @evleaks came at some point and said the project had been restarted, with the device being in stores last summer. Well, that didn’t happen and now new rumors appear. The Surface Mini is said to offer a 7.5 inch screen with a 1440 x 1080 pixels resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio.

Inside there’s a Qualcomm CPU, but there’s also an option for Intel to be on board. USB support, microSD and Windows RT 8.1 are also mentioned.
