While Huawei hinted last week at a 6.1 inch phablet unit called Ascend Mate, it’s time for Sony to also jump into the ring with its own 6 inch device. Ever since the debut of the first Galaxy Note, we always thought that 5.3 inches would be enough for most devices, but not anymore…

The newcomer from Sony is rumored to go by the name of Sony Xperia 6 and it’s expected in 2013. The 6 incher could be unveiled at CES 2013 or MWC 2013, packing a Full HD resolution screen, a quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU with Adreno 320 graphics and 3 GB of RAM, a crazy amount for today’s standards. You also get a 13 megapixel camera at the back, that I certainly hope it’s better than the one on the Xperia S, plus 32 GB of storage and a microSDHC card slot.

Finally there’s a 3500 mAh battery to power the whole thing up. Sadly, this is where the leak stops and speculations begin. How will Sony manage to integrate that beautiful display and not make the device huge? For now we have no idea and while I don’t expect to be surprised by the width of length of the device, it’s the shape that may surprise us, especially if it’s arched like the Xperia Arc and the Xperia T.
