Many Chinese tablets out there are Android 2.2 Froyo units and few of them will ever receive Gingerbread as an update. Well, there’s at least one new model with this OS as default option and that’s the Hong Kong Sheng 708.
This 7 inch tablet acts just like the Toshiba Thrive, as it includes a removable battery and even has some impressive feats, such as 1080p video playback and a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. The Hong Kong Sheng 708 comes with MP3 and MP4 support and many other formats are supported as well. There’s also a GSM card slot on board, voice call is enabled and under the hood there’s a 1.2GHz CPU.
512MB of memory will also help and you can expand storage up to 32GB via TF card. Dual cameras (3MP and 2MP at the front) plus WiFi and Bluetooth complete the feature list. The price is also pretty reasonable at $303.
