Samsung has just debuted a new 7 inch tablet, a model dubbed Samsung Galaxy Tab J and positioned as an entry level unit on the market. It was announced in Taiwan and it’s pictured below.

Its features include a 7 inch PLS panel, which is basically Samsung’s own version of IPS and the resolution is a 1280 x 800 pixels. The CPU is a quad core 1.5 GHz unit, coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage and a microSD card slot. Pics are taken with a surprising 8 megapixel back shooter with F/1.9 aperture and we also get a 2 MP one for selfies.

Measuring 8.7 mm in thickness and weighing 289 grams, this device packs a 4000 mAh battery and doesn’t support WiFi ac, just b/g/n. It also brings Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, FM radio and it’ll come in white or gold. The price is $185, at least in Taiwan. Global availability is not yet clear and you should know there’s also a SIM card slot here and voice calling abilities, plus 4G.
