In case you haven’t checked your calendar lately, the year is almost ending and this means we’re getting closer to the CES 2013 and MWC 2013 events from next year. Samsung is among the headliners in both events, with the Galaxy S IV rumored to give us a glimpse of its beauty there. And now there’s a rumored brand revamp and new TV coming…

Rumors say that Samsung may suffer a brand transformation with a new logo and a new look and they will also unveil a brand new OLED Smart TV with Bada OS on board. As far as rebranding goes, Sammy went to Scott Bedbury for it, the guy who worked with Nike and Starbucks before. It’s expected that Samsung will focus on an approach related to lifestyle activities similar Nike’s strategy.

As far as the TV goes, recently we’ve learned that webOS may be used on a future Smart TV from LG and now Samsung goes to Bada OS. It’s a good idea to turn to the operating systems left aside as projects and ignored and turn them into a viable platform, especially since the Android Smart TVs aren’t that convincing…

I thought Samsung was using Bada on their smartphones? I realize that there is a lot to compete with since Windows has everything compatible BUT TV’s, however Samsung has such a presence in the TV market, they could be a force to content with if Bada is successful, and they branch out to phones, laptops and tablet PCs. I’m anxious to get to CES this year though since I missed it last year because I had to help prepare the launch of the DISH Hopper and Joey Whole-Home HD DVR. It was a pretty big deal for us last year and paved the way for more consumer choice when they watch TV since it can skip commercials while you watch TV. The Auto Hop is a coveted item in our home because when we watch the PrimeTime Anytime programs that record from the four major networks each night, we save enough time by watching commercial free that we can watch another show that night. We all love to spend time together watching TV so that just means more quality time for us.
