Samsung already teased a mystery tablet/notebook transforming device recently, as we’ve shown here and now they got at it again. This time, they posted on Facebook the picture below with the message “Don’t worry, it’s just around the corner”. The pic says “ready to be smart” and shows a tablet with a keyboard dock behind it.
An early look at a device of this kind was given at Computex 2012, in June. That was a Samsung Series 5 Hybrid Windows 8 transforming tablet and this model reminds us of it. At the time the slate was actually a transforming tablet with an attachable keyboard and slot for a stylus pen. The display was around 11 inches in size and I see this model more like an ASUS Slate rival than anything else. I wonder how Samsung will handle launching a Retina Display 11 inch Android tablet and a 11 inch tablet with Windows 8.
Prices will certainly be in different ranges, so it will be hard for the consumer to choose between Samsung with Android and Samsung with Windows 8. I guess it depends on the customer’s needs in the end…
