Samsung’s TV show binge watching tablet Galaxy View has just debuted in Taipei, Taiwan and it’s priced locally at $593. The device stands out through a few features you can’t find on other slates, including the very big diagonal.
This is an 18.4 inch model, available as a 32 GB WiFi model for the price above. Apparently, people who buy one such device till March 15th also gets a special carrying bag for it. Galaxy View brings 4W stereo speakers, a handle making it easier to carry and morphing into a kickstand when needed. Inside there’s a 5700 mAh battery, able to provide up to 8 hours of video playback.
Galaxy View can be used as a game console in tandem with a smartphone, that will act as a remote in the game Asphalt 8 for example. From what I understood Samsung also bundles a series of movie services and free TV channel offers, plus hundreds of ebooks and even high def content. This model also brings 2 GB of RAM, Android 5.1 and a 1.6 GHz Exynos processor, plus Bluetooth 4.1 and a 2.1 MP camera.
It weighs 2.64 kg and measures 11.9 mm in thickness.
