After a week filled to the brim with new Samsung tablet leaks, there appears to be a new name change. The Tab S7 follow-up is now known as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and there’s also a Tab S8+ coming, both in the second half of the year. Some people have been leaking Tab S Pro models or even a Tab S7 Lite or Tab S7 XL so far… Let’s see what’s new this time.
The new info comes from a lesser known source, so we advise caution. It’s the tech YouTube channel The Galox, saying that the Galaxy Tab S8 series will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processors and have 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM, plus 128 up to half a TB of storage. The new tablets are reported to keep the exact same display configuration and fingerprint sensor location as the last year models. The smaller model will feature an 11 inch 120 Hz IPS LCD display, while the larger model will have a 12.4 inch 120 HZ AMOLED panel.
The battery capacities are unchanged with 10.090 mAh for the Tab S8+ and 8000 mAh for the Tab S8. Oddly enough the fast charging is downgraded from 45W to 25W. Honestly, these specs surprise no one, since they could’ve been just as easily guessed. We need to learn more about the stylus, design, build, 5G support. I’m expecting WiFi 6E here, new DeX features, new Notes functionality, improved Second Screen function for laptop/desktop connections and much more.
Gaming upgrades wouldn’t hurt. One thing that needs to stay the same is the godly speaker system on board.
