Samsung may have launched its Galaxy Tab S8 series early in the year, but they’ve followed it with a few Tab A models and a rugged device. Now there’s a new high midrange model coming, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE, which recently hit GeekBench and revealed some specs.

The device is listed with a MediaTek Kompanio 900T, 4 GB of RAM and Android 13 out of the box. The theory about a cheaper Tab S8 appeared way back in 2021, so there’s nothing surprising here. Sadly, if the rumors are true, we’d also have a TFT panel on board. It’s very likely that this product will launch in 2022. The Tab S8 FE scored 773 points in the single core test and 2318 points in the Multi Core one in GeekBench.

The product is codenamed SM-8506B and its MediaTek Kompanio 900T comes packing two Cortex-A78 cores and 6 Cortex-A55 cores. Samsung will only launch a 5G enabled of the Tab S8 FE, so there’s no Wi-F only unit. The device will definitely compete with the $500 Lenovo Tab P11 Pro second gen, but that one is a bit of a powerhouse, with an OLED 120 Hz screen and a more powerful MediaTek Kompanio 1300T CPU. Hopefully we’ll also get DeX Mode features here, a stylus.

A keyboard case would also be nice and it will probably happen.
