It’s been a few days since the last name change for the Samsung upcoming midrange tablet and now the name changes again. This time the device will be named Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE, instead of Tab S7 Lite or Tab S7 Lite XL. The device was listed on the Google Play Console recently and also had a battery capacity leak going on.
The new leak shows that it sports the same 10.090 mAh battery as the premium Galaxy Tab S7+, with the same 44W fast charging capacity. Just like the Tab S7+, this Fan Edition tablet sadly only ships with a 15W charger. Its retail package includes an S-Pen stylus, which can magnetically attach to the back of the tablet for easier carrying. The screen and chipset are going to be different here compared to the regular Tab S7. The FE will pack a 12.4 inch LCD 2560 x 1600 pixel display, instead of an AMOLED and we have no idea what the refresh rate will be.
The CPU becomes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G instead of the Snapdragon 865, while the RAM is of a lower capacity. A 5G version is also in the cards, separate from a WiFi one and perhaps also separate from a 4G one. The device is said to have come with a dual back camera with an 8 MP + 5 MP sensor setup. Tab S7 FE should be announced soon, since I’m willing to bet Samsung is not ready to wait till August and the debut of the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 models. Its price list could be lower than the 700 euros of the Tab S7, probably closer to 500 euros.
Hopefully we won’t get a TFT screen.
