The Galaxy Tab S3 tablet has been rumored ever since the beginning of the year and it seemed like a sure thing around the start of IFA 2016. It didn’t come then and now it’s pegged for a Q1 2017 release, in both a WiFi and LTE version.

The codenames SM-T820 and SM-T825 have popped up, associated with the WiFi model and LTE one respectively. We don’t have a clear list of specs, but taking into account the predecessors, the newcomers should be slim and high end models. Last I heard, the Tab S3 was coming in 9.7 inch and 8 inch versions, but it’s the aspect ratio that has us wondering.

The Galaxy Tab S had a 16:9 aspect ratio, while the Tab S2 went with a 4:3 one. An AMOLED panel is a sure thing, with a resolution of at least 2048 x 1536 pixels, if not larger. The latest Exynos, or maybe Snapdragon CPU will be on board, plus 4 GB of RAM, a better than usual camera and a solid battery. Samsung may even risk it and implement a curved OLED panel on at least one of the devices.
