Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 is not the only Samsung tablet that’s been in standby for a hot minute, but also the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 (2021). The device was listed recently on the Google Play Console with a surprise CPU inside, Unisoc T618.
Unisoc has been getting quite a bit of traction, as it appeared on both the new Nokia and Motorola tablets, which debuted in India. Unisoc is actually the fourth placed CPU maker right now, after MediaTek, Qualcomm and Apple. It surpassed Exynos apparently. Back to the slate, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) comes with Android 11 on board, with One UI 3.0 or 3.1 on top. The above mentioned Unisoc Spreadtrum processor integrates two Cortex-A75 cores and six power efficient Cortex-A55 cores, all of them clocked at 2000 MHz.
The listing also reveals that the device will use an ARM Mali G52 GPU for the graphical duties, clocked at 850 MHz. Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 2021 appeared on the Google Play Console with 3 GB of RAM and Android 11. There’s also a 4 GB RAM version and the listing mentions a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and a 10.5 inch diagonal. A 7040 mAh battery is also here, with 15W fast charging.
Storage will be 32 or 64 GB and we’ll also get an 8 MP back camera or 5 MP selfie camera. Expect the product to be very compact and slim, at 6.9 mm in thickness and 476 grams in weight. It should come in pink gold, grey and silver, plus have a quad speaker setup, which is a bit of a surprise. The price should be around $250 or so.
