It would appear that Samsung wants to take its waterproofing and dust proofing to tablets, especially since there’s a Galaxy Tab 4 Active trademark out there. IP67 certification is coming to their slates and this is by no means a premiere, since we’ve already got the Xperia Z2 Tablet with this feature.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Active has a trademark application pending in Norway. The trademark was filed on April 30th 2014 and with Galaxy S5 Active out of the bag, it’s only a matter of time till Samsung unveils other weather proof devices. A device of this kind usually means that some lids will be slapped onto the case, protecting the ports, but let’s see what solution they’ll choose for the speakers.
I’m also guessing this will be a smaller tablet, since it would be ridiculous to have a tablet with a big diagonal and water protection, because it’s less portable. Of course, Sony’s model is an exception, but when was Sony successful with tablets over the past years?
