The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite had already become semi official when it hit the web via a retailer and some official authorities, but today Samsung announces it officially. The device is indeed a budget slate and its specs are detailed below.

Galaxy-Tab3-Lite-01

The Tab 3 Lite is a 7 inch slate with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and 1 GB of RAM. The origin of the CPU is unknown, but we suspect something like Mediatek, Marvell, VIA or maybe even Intel. There’s also 8 GB of storage on board, a microSD card slot and to power the whole joint we’ve got a 3600 mAh battery.

Samsung promised 8 hours of video playback from this model and we also get a 2 megapixel rear camera, a front facing shooter, too and some connectivity options like WiFi, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB 2.0. There will also be a 3G version of this product with HSPA+ in the mix. The OS here is Android 4.2 and this model is quite fat, at 310 grams and 9.7 mm. The price? Well, around $130, which is not bad at all…
