Samsung has been known for a while for releasing uniquely colored versions of its devices, usually smartphones. Now, tablets are part of that trend, with a rumor saying we might see in 2013 a red version of the Galaxy Note 10.1, Tab 2 7.0 and Tab 2 10.1. The new color is actually garnet red, that was already applied to the Samsung Galaxy S III.

Usually Samsung tablets are available in black or white, so this is quite the exception. SamMobile is claiming that only the 3G editions of the above mentioned slates will get the garnet red treatment, while the WiFi only ones will stick to black or white. The new color versions may hit the stores around February 14, Valentine’s Day and for the right price they can be a nice gift for the ladies. I’m not sure what markets will get the devices, but Europe is a pretty sure bet.

Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and 10.1 plus the Galaxy Note 10.1 were launched earlier this year with Android 4.0 on board, but they started receiving Jelly Bean recently. We expect the red versions to run Android Jelly Bean straight from the box and maybe with a bit of luck the Android 4.2 version will be available.
