Believe it or not, Redmi is now ready to get into the gaming tablet field, after a year with a few slate launches. In 2024 we had the Redmi Pad Pro and the Redmi Pad Pro 5G, as well as the Redmi Pad SE 8.7. In 2025 we’re expecting multiple tablets, including a gaming one, apparently.
Gaming tablets haven’t been seen as much recently, with only Lenovo launching the occasional model. There was a time when ASUS and Huawei for example were competing in the field. However, the rise of portable consoles with PC innards has pretty much killed this battle. Anyway, rumor monger Digital Chat Station says that there’s a small tablet incoming, one made by Redmi and it will launch together with a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ phone.
The tablet will have an 8.8 inch LCD display and it should also bring a metal body, that’s both ultra light and thin. It should debut in the third quarter, when the new Dimensity CPUs are available. A Dimensity 9400 CPU is likely inside. Redmi is a budget brand, so we expect the price to be appealing. A specialized gaming interface would also be nice, the likes of which you usually see on ASUS and Nubia phones, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
Also not very sure about RAM quantity, which obviously needs to be 12 GB and about gaming keys even, which are hard to integrate on a tablet.
