It appears that the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD aren’t the only cheap tablets on the US market, since on October 30 the Acer Iconia Tab A110 will arrive. This model is a 7 incher quad core Tegra 3 device, with a very affordable price tag of $229.99, but there are also downsides to this unit.

This slate runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and supports a resolution of just 1024 x 600 pixels, plus it comes with 8 GB of storage, like the Nexus 7 basic version. 1GB of RAM is also on board, but this time we also get microSD storage, for up to 32 GB. Another advantage is the microHDMI port on board, that connects the Acer Iconia Tab A110 to a HDTV, something that the Nexus 7 lacks. Seeing that Google is rumored to offer a $99 version of the Nexus 7, this Acer product doesn’t sound that impressive any more.

In case you’re wondering, the CPU inside has a frequency of 1.2 GHz on the new Acer Iconia model and I sure hope the quality is better in this case compared to the previous Iconias I’ve seen in 2012. The Iconia Tab A510 had a lot of problems, for example…
