PocketBook has just announced the new A7 tablet, that features a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. This device is based on Android and it’s powered by a 1GHz Texas Instruments TI3621 CPU.

The hardware of the PocketBook A7 also includes 2 GB of flash storage, WiFi connectivity and OS of choice is Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The A7 is a smaller version of the PocketBook A10 tablet that was detailed last autumn. In case you’re wondering, this slate fully supports Android Market, so you can install all the apps you desire. Add to that a front 2 megapixel camera and we’re all set.

The A7 is also media-friendly, with support for MP3, WAV, AVI, MKV and MP4 files, plus it’s designed to read Epub, PDF, FB2, txt, DJVU, RTF, HTML, doc and docx files. PocketBook’s gadget also has a microSD card slot, a G sensor and a headphone socket. Sadly, I have no price for this product or a real availability date at the time…
